DESCRIPTION STUDIES
Master Degree in Oral Laser Applications is a postgraduate course which, due to the dynamic development of the use of lasers in the treatment of oral diseases, medical universities should take an active part in teaching laser therapy. European dental students have a small number of hours of teaching laser therapy as part of their studies, the effectiveness of which has been confirmed in numerous scientific studies. Currently, there is a need for academic centers that will provide reliable and proven knowledge to users and future users of dental lasers based on scientific research evidence. This was the idea behind the creators of an integrated laser therapy teaching program at the academic level, which resulted in the creation of a postgraduate program for learning the use of lasers in dentistry - European Master Degree in Oral Laser Applications. Currently, the same laser therapy teaching program in dentistry is implemented at 6 medical universities: in Barcelona (Spain), Liege (Belgium), Timisoara (Romania), Parma (Italy), Rome (Italy) and Wrocław in Poland. The same laser therapy teaching program is implemented at each university, and lecturers from a given university are invited to give some lectures at cooperating universities under the EMDOLA program, which results in a uniform level of teaching at each university.
Additionally, after defending the final thesis, each student has the opportunity to join the International Academy of EMDOLA, the aim of which is further cooperation between the scientific staff and lecturers from individual universities, which enables further scientific development of the graduate of EMDOLA postgraduate studies.
